Credit goes to Judith.  Thank you fellow crocheter!

My crochet version is 15 stitches by 15 rows.  You will be increasing on one side, while
decreasing on the other.  Work in bk lps.
Leaving a 4" tail, ch16.
Row 1: 2 sc in second ch from hook.  Sc in next 12 chains.  Sc dec in last two chains. (15 )
Row 2: ch 1, turn.  Sc dec.  Sc in next 11 chains.  Sc inc in last chain.  (15)
Row 3: ch 1, turn. 2 sc in first stitch.  Sc in next 12 chains.  Sc dec in last two chains. (15)
Repeat rnds 2-3 until 15 rows are complete.
Slip stitch row 1 and row 15 together.  Fasten off, leaving a 4" tail.

Weave in remaining two sides together with the two 4" tails.  All ends are closed.
With one tail, pull it through the whipped cream, bringing both ends to the center.
With the other tail
, pull it through the whipped cream, bringing both ends to the center.
Bring one tail through the whip cream again.  Both tails are now together on one side.  Tie
them in a knot.  Hide loose ends in the whipped cream.  Sew or hot glue whipped cream to
cup.
